Connecting adventurers with rivers, mountains and glaciers since 1992
The Canadian Outback Rafting story started way back in 1992. Two brothers, James and Steve Corbett, grew up in Vancouver loving everything there was to enjoy in the outdoors. Midway through their careers the two got together to start Canadian Outback in an effort to merge their passion for the outdoors with their work.
Early on their focus for our business was on multi-day eco-adventures in spectacular and remote parts of British Columbia. As one of Canada’s first eco-adventure companies, Canadian Outback quickly built a reputation as the company to turn to if you wanted a British Columbia soft-adventure, in style.
A couple of years later the brothers began offering single day rafting trips in nearby Squamish. Steve got his raft guide certification and took on the role of Trip Leader, mentoring young raft guides on the art of guiding. We received accolades around the world for our bald eagle viewing trips in the winter, and world-class whitewater and float trips in the summer.
Now, 100,000 customers later, Canadian Outback Rafting continues its quest to connect adventurers with the incredible rivers, mountains and glaciers found in the Sea to Sky Corridor near Vancouver, Squamish and Whistler.
Graham Young, our long time Rafting Manager, is now our President and Co-Owner of our company. Graham is a BCROA examiner, class 3/4 trip leader, and white water expert with more than 10 years of rafting experience. Over the course of his rafting career, he has traveled to more than 30 countries, and rafted commercially on every continent except for Antarctica. He brings an unparalleled passion for rafting and customer service you will get to experience first hand through him and his amazing team.
Our team at Canadian Outback Rafting focuses on two main priorities – customer safety and customer experience. We pay great attention to detail ensuring the well-being of you and every rafter. From first aid to equipment and training, the safety of you and your friends is always at the front of our minds. At the same time, we treat all our guests as VIPs.
